Home is Wherever I'm with You

Oh boy, where do I even start with today? You know how sometimes you just feel so drained? About a month ago my car (that I have owned for the past eight years) started acting strange. When I would slow down at an intersection sometimes, it would shut off. Our first though was the fuel pump, but after some Google research we came up with the idea that maybe it was the crank sensor.

I had my fingers crossed because the part to fix this only cost $14. We bought the part but were unable to get to the area behind the engine, so we took it down to my parents' house in hopes to get under the car and change it out. I was off around eleven, so we ran some small errands and drove the hour and fifteen minute route to my parents'. My car was fine until we got in their driveway and died. Typical. After allowing it to cool for an hour, we were able to take it to a family friends' home for tests.

The bad news is that it is the fuel pump. The worse news is that it's around $400-$500 to fix. I'm thinking about doing a special sale on my Etsy store to try and make some of the money up. Would you guys be interested in this?

Anyway, onto some happier words. The above photos are three I snapped on my iPhone during the day. The left and right images are from my parents' kitchen window. Can you believe that I grew up here? It's so rural and green! It felt peaceful to be here again. The middle photo is this little "stray" cat that actually belongs to their neighbor. She lets this cat roam around everywhere (which I believe is super-irresponsible), but he is friendly and said hello to me for a few minutes. He was hunting chipmunks!

I'm loving the photos that Geoff is snapping lately. I use him as a model in my place to get the exposure correct and then we switch. He has a good eye and I trust him to shoot me. I have never considered myself an easy model, but this daily outfit project has given me so much confidence in being photographed every day!

The tank was marked down to only a few dollars at PacSun. I normally don't go in there, but Geoff loves his Vans and sometimes they have some different color ways than what we carry at work. They were having an extra 50% off clearance sale and I saw this lovely basic for cheap. I bought it around Christmas time but this is the first time I have used it in an outfit! It's extra comfy and I might be wearing it more often. The skirt I bought in recent thrift haul and today I finally shortened it for wearing. Isn't it great? It has an old Express label, but I have no idea what decade it's from. I assume that it's probably from the early-mid 90s.
