Declaration

Well, well, well. I must say that I'm absolutely smitten with today's outfit. I can surely appreciate those who go all-out for the Fourth, but I like to play it down a bit. This weekend I've been sporting navy and red tones and finally wrapped up my patriotic streak with this knock out.

Like I mentioned earlier this morning, we attended the crazy Doo Dah Parade in the Short North. For those of you who aren't familiar, it's basically a parody parade — groups of people create groups and personas to march down the streets of Columbus. For example, there was a really funny "float" for the Church of Oprah. Silly, right? Needless to say it is, for the most part, very entertaining. After a little over an hour in the heat, we decided to head up to the thrift stores.

Our (or maybe just my) original intent was to visit more than one. I was hoping that they would have some holiday sales. First we stopped at Village Discount Outlet, which is definitely my favorite. It turned out that I did so well and took so long that we came straight home afterwards! While I love visiting more than one, I have a huge haul to update you all with! I'll be posting those images after we enjoy our dinner tonight. Is there anyone else who loves black bean burgers as much as I do?

I bought this strange necklace a couple of years ago at a thrift store and had never figured out what to wear it with. What better day than today? I thought it was goofy and unique until one day when I noticed one of my bosses at work wearing one that was almost exactly the same! Instead of the Declaration of Independence it had the Liberty Bell. Does anyone know anything about these series of necklaces?

I was excited to use this concrete red, white, and blue star in Grandview for an outfit post. I think I've had my fill of this color combo for at least a couple of weeks. Hope you're all having a great day!
