Oh boy, it's July! I meant to post this outfit last night (as it was yesterday's outfit), but we got all caught up in Fourth of July weekend festivities! Firstly I'll start off by saying that we finally went thrifting today! My car came back from the shop and is working just fine now, so we ran some errands and hit up the Ohio Thrift nearby. I got lots of lovely goodies (including an amazing book about cat photography. YES. Cat photography) that I will share with everyone on Monday!
These shorts were part of that haul. They started as pants, but there was no way I was going to leave without this color. I've oogled over the American Apparel shorts in salmon for a long time, but never wanted to drop that kind of money on them. Maybe I'm cheap, but I was patient and now I think these might be my new favorite bottoms for the summer!
After we shot these photos, we were ready to get out of the humidity — darn you, Ohio — so we rested at home for a moment before hopping on the bus down to Huntington Park (the Columbus Clippers's baseball field) to watch the fireworks for Red White & Boom. RW&B is our big Fourth of July show in downtown Columbus. We met up with some coworkers and enjoyed the music and explosions in the sky and then met up with a good friend of mine for drinks at our favorite bar.
Okay, back to the outfit. This isn't a color combo that I would think of at first, but once I put it together I knew it was right! I've had these glitter oxfords for quite some time and haven't gotten much wear out of them. They are certainly some of my favorite shoes though. See how they sparkle? It was love at first sight!
It's quite rainy in Columbus today, so we are not sure what the rest of the afternoon holds. Gallery Hop is going on in the Short North tonight so hopefully it dries up!
