It's Friday! Pardon the terrible Rebecca Black song that running through my head as I type that, but I"m very excited about the weekend. Why? Well, Geoffrey's birthday is on Sunday and we both have Monday off — meaning we are going to celebrate his birthday at night like we had wanted!
Speaking of celebrating, as I mentioned yesterday my friend Shawn is in town from Los Angeles. We hit up our old stomping grounds, Skully's, for 80s night. The bar is really kind of gross and creepy, but if you throw some Cyndi Lauper in the mix, I'm bound to go anywhere. We had a super amazing time and I loved dancing and laughing with my good friend. I'm such a lucky lady for having pals like this! I just wish that I could see 'em more often (note: a lot of my friends moved out of state!).
Regardless, I stayed out later than I had wanted to — I didn't get to bed until 1:30am. I know, I know, that's not terribly late and we certainly didn't close the place down, but it's been a long time since I've gone to bed later than midnight on a week night. Needless to say I was yawning through a big part of my morning. Hah! I had a long shift at work and plenty of tasks to keep me busy, so there's no complaining here.

Speaking of work, I got some goodies today! I'm really amped about all of these. The first is the Fred Perry Hold All in black. I already have a maroon/green/navy multicolored version that I love and the price was so right on this one, that I had to get it ($19.99 + my discount — WHOA!). And secondly — and thirdly, and fourthly — I bought some earrings. They're all duster length and are feather-themed. They were marked down to $4.99, so I figured I'd pick 'em up to add some lovely flair to my outfits.

While I don't own any of the polos, I have been a big fan of Fred Perry for quite a bit. I have some of his shoes and now three bags, not to mention that I'm constantly drooling over the Amy Winehouse Collection. I really dig the simplify of their logo and their classic cuts. If you aren't familiar, I recommend you check 'em out!

These are one set of the earrings. They're made from ivory colored ceramic-like material. It has some lovely chain fringe for extra layer and texture. These are definitely DIY inspiration for future earrings, don't you think?

Today's outfit a fun little mix-up. I wanted to show off this great flannel dress, but it seemed a little "too plain" on it's own. I layered it with a tied-up henley tank and a denim vest (my go to, obviously!). The boots dressed it down a bit and, in my opinion, made it feel more comfortable. And everyone knows that I'm all about being comfy!
I want to give a big shout out to Styled On for featuring me again in their Community Roundup! I can't thank them enough.
