When these pants came into work, I made fun of them. A lot. And in the midst of making fun of them, I actually put them on for a giggle. Well, joke's on me, cause once they were on my body, I thought they were majorly cute.

Fancy Footwork + Big Announcement!

Before I get to the big exciting news of the day, I thought I'd share yesterday's outfit. As mentioned, we have been waiting years to see Chromeo — and after a few missed Chicago shows and festivals falling through, they finally played Columbus last night. Their manager was awesome enough to get me a photo pass. The Newport didn't end up even setting up the photo pit (why not?!?), but I got a couple of good shots nonetheless.

Geoff and I both came to the realization today that we had never been to an Oktoberfest. This is slightly signification, we supposed, considering that both of us has partial German heritage. I was never really raised knowing a lot about German culture and seemingly identify much more with 90s American culture than most anything else. Is that weird? I'm not sure. Perhaps more of a generational thing.

TGIF! Today it was rainy in Ohio with a chill — and for once I didn't really mind so much. After my shift at work, I was feeling extremely tired and took a mid-day nap. The cool weather and grey sky made the apartment feel so cozy and wonderful. It was a nice break from the busy schedule I've been experiencing as of late.

Today was extra-exciting. It was nice weather, I was off work early, and met up with Tish (from Grace & Gold Beauty) to hit up ULTA. I'm admitting that before today, I was an ULTA virgin. Tish rants and raves about it — I had never gotten the chance to go.

Oh boy, it feels good to get back to outfit posts! After one hundred and eleven days in a row, I have missed the past five due to my Chicago trip. Although I wish I would have been able to keep the trend going, it was impossible for me to get the photos this weekend with all of the events that happened (and didn't happen). The breather was, in some ways, nice. No fear — I'm back!

Review // September Birchbox

Hello Minis! I'm finally home and all settled from this weekend's Chicago trip. It turned out to be amazing and I'm sure I'll be sharing more on that with you later. When I arrived home last night, my September Birchbox was patiently waiting at my doorstop. The Weekend So Far...

Hello, Minis! No worries, I'm still alive and kicking — I just headed up to Chicago for the weekend and have totally been unable to blog yet. If you follow my Twitter/Instagram, you probably noticed that my trip has not gone as smoothly as I had liked. But I'm here and with friends, so I'm happy regardless of whatever other circumstances have come about.

Today was awesome! My friend Stan is in town from Santa Monica and after work I made some jewelry and then met up with him for lunch and hangouts. We had great fun and he was so sweet and took my outfit photos for me! He did a great job, don't you think?

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Today's going to be a short post, Minis! Today I dropped Geoffrey off at the airport. He's going to be at Penn State for a whole week working at a new store opening of the company in which we both work. We snapped my outfit just before leaving the apartment, so it was quick!

I'm going to be working short morning shifts for the rest of the week, so my afternoons and evenings are probably going to be filled with projects, cleaning, and friend hang-outs! Kind of excited to catch up with some friends — including Stanley who's in town from LA!

And as Ms. Daina reminded me on Tumblr, it's only three days until I leave for Chicago! I'm get more and more excited as it gets closer. I haven't been to Chicago since January (brrrrr!) and even then didn't get to visit my friends — we spent our week exploring the city on our own.

But I'm taking my bicycle and camera, so we'll see what comes out of it!

Today we did the unthinkable — we went to the mall! This is something that we rarely ever do. In fact, I don't really like the mall that much. I've work in a few malls and just being in them gives me the feeling of 30-minute lunch breaks in the food court. I'm totally loving our weather right now. I'm getting so excited to fill my closet (and Etsy shop!) with lots of cozy goodies. I'm so excited about many things right now — often I find myself in little giddy moments  and sort of stumble over myself. Today I worked a short shift and found myself with a few hours of extra time. I should have been photographing the new awesome housewares for the Etsy shop, but instead decided to shower and give myself a 50s-inspired makeover.

True Blue

I'm more excited about this dress and hair combo than I've been about my outfits in a while. I've been waiting patiently for my hair to get long enough to try some sort of mini-beehive undo and when I woke up from a spur-of-the-moment after-work nap, I started braiding. I made a nice thick braid just above my bangs and then pulled the rest of my hair up by sections, teasing and making a small beehive. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Party On

I have felt as if I've had a million things to do today. And to top it all off, tonight we're heading just north of the campus area to our boss's going away party. Unfortunately it's almost 100° (happy September, right?!), so I wanted to just be simple and wear something breathable.
