Randolph Street Market

This weekend I had the exciting opportunity to be part of the media/"style guru" team at the Randolph Street Market. A huge thank you goes out to the team who brought this event to my attention! It's absolutely wonderful.

I had Matthew from work come along — it's his birthday this weekend and I knew that he would be into the market. When we showed up, we were greeted with some yummies from Fritz Pastry and [of course] coffee.

From the WhatKnots booth! Loved that monkey!

The coolest use of industrial mixers: Lights!
Matthew is the foxiest!
Probably one of the more fun (and difficult) parts of the day was that I was given four ribbons. I had to choose four items to award as my favorites. If you've ever been to the Randolph Street Market, you know how huge it is — picking only four items was very difficult.

My first went to these adorable Kitty Egg Beeswax Candles from Pussies on Parade. The entire booth was cat-related and (dare I say it?) purrrfect. It was hard for me to pick my favorite, but these candles were to die for. You can pick 'em up for only nine dollars here.

The second went to the Orange Peel Chamomile lotion from Lulu Blossom. This vegetarian-friendly hand cream smells like summer and the ladies running it were absolutely adorable. Gotta love it! You can pick up some here for $12.50. My third choice was a wonderful industrial rolling cart. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo, but the maker had replaced the shelving with polished reclaim wood. The contrast of the metal and dark was beautiful!

And last, but certainly not least, this orange dotted dress. It was for sale in the Vertmoderne booth but unfortunately I'm unable to find any link to her wonderful vintage clothing collection!

Naturally, Matthew and I went to get some burritos for lunch. My friend Lou is in town from Philadelphia. He ended up meeting us out at the restaurant, after which Matt parted ways and Lou and I went to explore. I took him down to The Wormhole (which was certainly up his alley given his Star Wars obsession, etc) and we hung out in Wicker Park for a bit before having the grand idea of lying out in the grass.

After some relaxing, we went out to Windy City Soul Night with friends and danced the night away.

Pretty good Saturday, right? (Big thanks to Matthew and Lou for snapping some photos of moi!)
