When I was little, my mom and I would always make tons (literally) of sugar cookies in Christmas shapes, decorate them with sprinkles and frosting, and leave them for Santa. I was pretty darn good at it, if I do say so myself. Captain Sugar Glitter.
So recently I found this recipe for Hot Cocoa Cookies. It's super simple — in fact, I did it with my mom's sugar cookie recipe and just substituted 1TBS of the flour for 1TBS of hot cocoa mix. I used chocolate frosting and marshmallow fluff with a piping bag and they turned out great. Oh yeah, and I didn't have a cup-shaped cookie cutter, so I made roundies and little "gingerbread" hot cocoa people. They're delicious and such a fun twist on traditional sugar cookies.
Check out the recipe here and make some of your own! What holiday cookies are you most excited to leave for Santa tonight?
