New Year Resolutions are pretty much made to be broken, right? I've never been one to make them, but last year decide to start. I did okay, I think, in terms of resolutions. Three out of five. Pat on the back, me. Well, in a time span that in no way feels like an entire year has passed, it's time to make goals for 2014. Here we go, world.
1. Gym
I am punching myself in the face for making this my number one. But, let's face it — winter, the holidays, working from home — it makes it easy to not do a lot of physical activity. Plus, pretty soon I'm gonna be rounding the corner to my lovely thirties. I've been meaning for ages to tag along on Brock's daily gym trips (and I joking always ask him, "can you please teach me how to gym?" because I've never actually been to the gym before). I'm not so concerned about losing weight, but would love to tone my arms and back. And thanks to the Nike running event I participated in last month, I have some gear to get myself start. Okay, so yes. It's time to learn how to gym.
2. Up My Shop Game
I want to dedicate more time and products to the Mini Penny Vintage Shop. Picking vintage used to be one of my favorite pastimes, so it's time to get back in the swing of things. I have around fifteen An Honest Tote bags that are ready to be photographed, so stay tuned!
3. Visit my Brother and friends in California
I haven't been out to San Diego since my brother got married in 2009. He's south, plus I have friends in LA and San Francisco. This year I need to make it a point to go visit my friends and family more often.
4. See Woody Allen Play Jazz at the Carlyle
I've been saying I would do this for years. On Mondays in New York, Woody Allen and the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band plays at the Carlyle. Woody's not getting any younger, I'm not getting any younger, and I need to do this already. I mean, geez, the man is my idol. What am I waiting for?
5. Explore More
In 2013 I was inspired so much by the awesome people I met on Instagram. Amazing photographers in my own city — @swopes, @alinatsvor, @esteeveeen, @brentknepper and more — have me dying to go out and play more in my own beautiful city.
What are your goals for the new year?
