Three years ago I picked a pair of Urban Outfitters high rise floral pants as my favorite pair of jeans. I also noted that I didn't own many pairs of pants — which was very true. Nowadays, though, I own a lot of pants. But I have still have yet to commit to a pair of normal blue denim. I want some. But I find myself being extremely picky in my denim shopping (I'm lusting after a pair from Madewell... any insights?).
But for now, I do have a favorite basic jean. And surprisingly, I found it a little difficult for me to find photos wearing my favorite jeans. I have no idea why I haven't used these in more outfit posts because I live in these things.
I'm speaking of, of course, my American Apparel Easy Jean. I've owned this style in a few colors, but always go back to the black and the grey. I had to dig back a full year to even find a photo of them on my blog even though I wear them so much I bought a backup pair! Hah! Anyway, I love these jeans because they are the perfect amount of stretch. I'm a big fan of the high rise — and although these don't have front pockets, I've gotten used to it and utilize the back pockets for anything I need to hang onto. Oh, and they make my butt look great.
Admittedly, I have only paid full price for these pants once. $80 is steep when you consider how quickly AA stuff typically wears out, so I wait for a 1/2 off coupon to pop up on Groupon (happens maybe 1-2x per year) and pick up a couple of pairs. $40 makes it totally worth it! These pants are surprising durably and hold their shape better than the Urban Outfitters house brands (Silence + Noise, BDG) in my experience. But beware of the lighter colors — I noticed that I could faintly see my tattoos through the light mint Easy Jean!
A close second? My Cheap Monday Second Skin denim! What's your favorite denim brand? Anything I should try?
