A Mini Penny Birthday

Today is officially Mini Penny's third birthday. [insert party emojis here ]

Minis —

I'm going to go ahead and give you guys a little trigger warning for sappy-ness here. I genuinely want to thank each and every one of you who read, subscribe, follow, like, share, tweet, comment, buy, recommend, email, and (I feel like I'm forgetting something) participate in this growing project. Three years ago, this was a small hobby. And now, because of all of you, it's my life. I couldn't be happier.

This blog has brought many interesting new facets to my life — corporate jobs, fun travel, new friends — and all because I started out wanting to document my thrift store findings. So much has changed over time, but my core idea is still the same — looking unapologetically and affordably good.  Every day I look forward to e-speaking with my readers. You guys have changed my entire life.

Six months ago I was admittedly in a pretty dark place mentally. Returning to Chicago and focusing on Mini Penny helped me shed a lot of the sadness I was feeling back then — most of it left over from a psychologically abusive boss who told me that everything I care about doesn't matter. Writing and focusing on what I love has been the best therapy I could have ever asked for. At this point I could never imagine my life without Mini Penny.

With love,
Jessie Barber

As a part of Mini Penny's blog birthday, I'm taking a look back at one of my first series — The 30 Day Fashion Challenge. Check back every day for a look at how big of a difference three years can make! I've altered the original "Describe Your Personal Style" post to reflect an outfit that I wear on special occasions! Be sure to compare the 30DFC // Describe Your Personal Style post from 2011!
