Have you ever tried on a pair of shoes and knew that they were perfect for you? I'm a shoe person, through and through. I have a fairly large collection — heels, flats, sneakers, boots — but somehow had no brown boots. None. I don't know how that happened. I've been looking for the right pair for ages, but nothing really clicked until I stepped into these Courtney Lace Ups by The Frye Company.

A long time ago a friend told me that once I had my first pair of boots from The Frye Company that I would be 'addicted.' She was right. I'm already lusting over the styles in the newest collection — The Julian Chukka? The Jill Oxfords? The Logan Overnight Bag? Gush. Plus, to my shoe (and accessory) collection's delight, they have a flagship store here in Chicago.

Steven and I jumped puddles in Wicker Park last week, shooting some photos and drinking [too much?] coffee. I paired my boots with a neutral palette of whites and browns, which felt appropriate for welcoming the warm weather.

We sat in La Colombe's window for a while and watched the rain pass a few times. Days like these remind me how much I love the city, the coffee, and all of the small adventures I can find near my own neighborhood.

Here's how you can recreate this look:
