What I Wore // Imperator Furiosa

Happy Halloween! Well, a day early, anyway. We had our Halloween event at work on Thursday, so I got a chance to break out my costume a few days early. I spent a good amount of time (and thrift store hunting! yay!) to make my costume. I'm so happy with how it turned out!

October Lists

Everyone loves October! I love October, you probably love October, your bestie loves October. I look forward to all things pumpkin-y and all that shit. October's 52 Lists Project and 12 Lists project were both great ways to get myself inspired and thinking about all sorts of things!

What I Wore // Open House Chicago

Last weekend, the boy and I decided to check out a few new-to-us places thanks to Open House Chicago. Each year, the city opens up hundreds of buildings for free tours that are normally closed to the public. We went into three buildings (and tried to see three others, but the lines were really long!) and enjoyed a beautiful day exploring in our own back yard.

Review // Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains

After reviewing another cleansing grains product two weeks ago, I was a little hesitant to give another one a try. I ended up throwing out the Saison grains, so upon opening the Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains, I let myself use it with open arms.

What I Wore // Ice Queen

This sweater is the most perfect icy blue! When incorporating color into my closet, I like to keep it pale and simple. Otherwise, I've got loads of black, grey and white — so these soft tones are great for mixing it up!

I've been in love with Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte lipsticks ever since I made my first order. A couple weeks ago, they came out with a few limited edition colors. What I Wore // Uniqlo

I'm so excited that there's finally a Uniqlo Store opening this weekend in Chicago! I remember seeing them board off the workspace for the new shop on Michigan Avenue over a year and thought it would feel like forever before it was time to shop. And now that time is here!

Inspiration // Very Magazine

One of my favorite things to do when the boy and I go out to the suburbs is stop by [market] and pick up calligraphy pens and Japanese fashion magazines. A few months back, I chose a big issue of Very. The styling in this magazine is clean, minimal, and very inspiring. I put together a few outfits based on my favorite looks from these pages. Do I know what most of it says? No way. But the photos speak for themselves.

Trend // Fringe

I love fringe. Seriously, I might have a problem. It's hard for me to stay away from a good fringe bag or leather jacket. I'm always on the prowl for that perfect black fringed coat for winter. With this being said, it comes as no surprise that I'm pumped for this to be one of the bigger trends this season. I can finally get fringe on something that isn't a terrible pair of ankle-high Minnetonka (I just.... can't with those things). Review // Saison Autumn Cleansing Grains

I'm always down to trying new skincare products. Saison was kind enough to send over their Autumn Cleansing Grains and I couldn't wait to give it a try. I tend to get really dry skin as we go into colder months and everywhere has their heat kicked on. This cleanser seemed as though it would be a fine fit for me.

You've Got Nail 55

I normally struggle with the desire to make a Halloween manicure, but also wanting to stay away from the traditional black and orange (or purple and green) combo. I happened to pick up some small nail stickers at Walgreens and made this set in a subtle black, white, and glitter combination.

What I Wore // Harley-Davidson Boots

There's something about summer that makes me forget how much I love a good boots and socks combo. We're in that fantastic transition which means light layers and textures are taking us through the end of the season.

A Small Moving Hiatus

I think I had mentioned a few weeks back that my building sold to a new owner. Everything in that neighborhood is selling and flipping and jacking up rent so quickly, and I knew it was a matter of time before it happened to my wonderful building.

The other day I came home to a notice that my rent is now raised a crazy amount (queue the emoji with the shocked face!) — so needless to say, it was time to go. I had been considering moving out of Logan Square for a few months and this was a kick in the pants for me.

This past week I've been working tirelessly to get moved to a new place, hence the lack of posts. I should have everything organized and back to my regularly posting next week. So for now, enjoy the weekend and stay tuned!
