After reviewing another cleansing grains product two weeks ago, I was a little hesitant to give another one a try. I ended up throwing out the Saison grains, so upon opening the Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains, I let myself use it with open arms.

For starters, I love the packaging. It's a clean, nice bottle with a wooden twist-off lid.
Farmacy claims that the grains cleanse, exfoliate and clarify in one step. It has cranberry seeds for deep cleaning and exfoliating, rice bran powder for dry skin and oil observing, plus white willow bark, carrot, green tea and marshmallow to soothe, protect and calm the skin. On top of all that, it uses a unique patent-protected variant of Echinacea Purpurea, called GreenEnvy. GreenEnvy contains the highest known concentration of the phytochemical Cichoric Acid, a potent natural antioxidant which helps protect and firm the skin by inhibiting the enzymes that break down collagen. Cichoric Acid also normalizes the skin pigmentation process to promote a more evenly toned complexion.
I normally have combination skin that tends to be sensitive, pink and splotchy. All of these descriptions of ingredients were very intriguing to me!

Just like the Saison, it's a powder. Just add a few drops of water and you can control to consistency! The bottle makes it a lot easier to dispense the powder than the scooper from my last review.

Next, add water! The consistency is very creamy — almost milky. The exfoliating grains aren't large, but still make for a great texture on the skin. It doesn't later like a soap. It feels fantastic on my face and is easy to apply and wash off!
The biggest thing for me is the smell. This one isn't exhilarating, but it's more than tolerable. It smells more like flour or baking goods. I can totally get down with that! Many of you may remember that I complained the Saison grains smelled like Sadie's litterbox (hence why I threw it out!). I'm so excited that the Farmacy grains smell fresh and clean!
After using this product on my face, my skin feels nice and soft. I don't use it every day — typically every other or every two days. The results are good. They're not perfect, but they're good.
For blotchiness, it's hard to tell. I got a small sunburn during my week of motorcycle class, therefore my skin was just slightly pink. However, it felt totally moisturized and pores tights, despite the fact that I was creeping up on a cycle breakout. I plan on continuing this product and am looking into their others, which are available through Sephora!
Needs extra convincing? Farmacy does not test on animals and uses no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, formaldehyde, or artificial coloring. This product was a gift from Farmacy and BrandBacker. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting Mini Penny Blog.
