You've Got Nail 56 // Black Cat Nails

Two weeks ago I posted a set of low-key Halloween nails.  Well, I made another set (plus two more) thanks to the Scratch October Monthly Mini Box!

This month I picked the set of Lucky Black Cat nail decals. Unfortunately, they're currently sold out on Scratch's website, but there are plenty of other great options to go with! Black and gold is one of my favorite combos!

This month's mini kit came with my decals, a bottle of Nicole by OPI in It's All About the Glam, and a small jar of orange glitter. I'm not much of a glitter person, but was determined to use it on a set of nails.

The cat nails (top image) were very easy — I simply shaped the nails and then applied the decals. However, I found that these were slightly different than other Scratch wraps I've used. The black deals (my thumb and ring finger) were a little bubbly and wanted to pull back from the edges when I used my top coat. I haven't had this happen in the past with these, so I'm guessing it just has something do to with the black formula in their wraps. I used the extra wraps to make a second set that was black with gold glitter on the ring and pinky as an accent.

The other items in my kit were okay. I rather liked the nail polish. Instead of just plain white, it has a pearl-like finish. I was really hoping it was glow-in-the-dark, but had no such luck! As for the glitter, it was just as I had expected.

... glittery (derp).

I used the pearly white as a base coat as a then stamped a honeycomb pattern using my Bundle Monster plates in grey and orange. The glitter was applied to the thumb as an accent. In the end, I didn't keep these nails on long because I just felt like they were a little too forced for me.

What I used:
❖ BM Plate 422
❖ Scratch Lucky Black Cat decals
❖ Nicole by OPI in It's All About the Glam
❖ Tenoverten Nail Polish in Light Grey
❖ Essie Saturday Disco Fever
❖ Seche Vite
❖ Pueen Stamper
❖ Black polish

I hope you all had a great Halloween!
