On our way back from Palm Springs, we swung by Joshua Tree and Pioneer Town. The mountain views driving into the area were breathtaking and I wish we could have spent a little more time here!

Palm Springs

I was so excited to get out to the desert and check out Palm Springs. I had stayed at the Ace Hotel in DTLA, so I only found it fitting to give the Ace out there a try. It was a wonderful stay! I can't wait to get back to Palm Springs and check out more of the local happenings.

Los Angeles Swimming

All of this Chicago snow has me daydreaming back to rooftop pools in Los Angeles! Prior to my trip, I had been searching everywhere for the perfect high-cut swimsuit and finally settled on this simple piece from ASOS. I would wear this around every day if it were socially acceptable. Hah!

I decided to get festive with my nails this weekend! At the very last minute (and by that I mean Thursday), I received my February Scratch Mini Monthy Mani Box! I decided to split up the wraps and make more than one set, just like I normally do, but today I'm only sharing the Valentine's-themed set.

San Diego

After flying into Los Angeles, my first task was to take the Amtrak down to San Diego to see my brother, nephews, and sister-in-law! California Dreamin'

My trip to California three weeks ago was the perfect way to recharge after a rocky start to 2016. I made my way around LA, San Diego, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree with a good friend of mine that I knew from Philly. All of the sunshine and burritos made it hard to come back to Chicago, but looking forward to more west coast visits in the future.

Yippee! After a week long vacation to California and a week of moving and unpacking, I feel so refreshed and excited to get back to writing and styling! I took a short hiatus to focus on getting all of these things finished (and there was a lot of work with the apartment!), but I have so much to share from the California trip.
