I'm obsessed with all this plant-related and love all of the cactus additions to my desk as of late! Big thanks to Ankit for sending me this cactus charging bank, cactus tumbler, and adorable fake little cactus to make my Monday desk feel as cute as ever. They go perfectly with my cactus notebook, minimal planner, and Gelly Roll pens. What's your desk look like?

Things Are What You Make of Them

I'm so excited for Adam J. Kurtz's new book, Things Are What You Make of Them. I've followed Adam for a long time on Instagram and love his fresh and clever views on all aspects of the world — and especially what it means to be an artist. His new book is full of advice for creatives and I especially loved the section about staying sane while working at home!

Things Are What You Make of Them comes out October 3rd. The best part is, if you pre-order the book the publisher will donate $1 per book to the Tegan and Sara Foundation. The Tegan and Sara Foundation is dedicated to helping fight for health, economic justice, and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.

I recommend picking up this book!

Dream of the 90s

Tear-away pants? Platform shoes? Tiny backpacks? Yes please. My formative early teen years were during the 90s and these are all of the clothes I saw in magazines (and Delia's catalogs) and desperately wished I had or that I was cool enough to wear. Saying 'No' In 2017

The other day I had a Facebook notification that it has been four years since I moved from Philadelphia to Chicago. Philly left me reeling and I was determined to escape the fear from my failure at work and in relationships. I failed in Philadelphia. It took me a while to redeem my feelings for it — but it shaped me. The past four years have been cloud nine. I have been fortunate enough to weed out the bullshit. Those failures made me want to be a yes-(wo)man. And I was, for a while. But 2017 has taught me how important it is to know when to say no when someone or something is simply asking too much.

Weekend Movies

I'm pretty excited to see It this weekend. It was one of the first scary movies I saw as a kid and I remember it scaring the heck outta me (between It and Arachnaphobia, I was not a fan of shower or sink drains). I'm looking forward to a few movies over the next few months — Blade Runner 2 and Star Wars, to be specific. What are you planning on seeing?
