There's still so much I haven't shared from my Michigan Labor Day trip! My mom, Opal, and I had so much fun during our day in Mackinaw City — I couldn't help but get excited about this giant hot dog and a weird little cryptid store (see more on that in the post!).
This. This! It's funny that I spent so much of my pre-trip planning looking for weird roadside attractions and somehow this didn't hit my radar. I stumbled upon Mystery Town, USA after leaving Weinerlicious. It had some walk-throughs about Big Foot, Area 51, Bermuda Triangle, and more — but I just took my time to stop in the gift shop and lovingly admire all of the adorable stuff they had! I ended up getting an alien-shaped bath bomb and a pair of hilarious Big Foot-being-abduced-by-a-UFO socks. This was certainly one of my favorite stops!
The main area of Mackinac was so cute! Mom and I had a lot of fun walking around and checking out the different shops — we even got ourselves some great rings in a leather goods store.
A pet store? Yes please. How adorable are these doggie drawings? Opal approves.
And just before crossing the bridge, we took a walk in the park and spotted this Opal look-a-like! She was an 11-year-old cockapoo from Iowa. Adorable!
Once we left Mackinaw, we traveled across the bridge to the upper peninsula. This lighthouse was a great stopping point (especially because my mom loves lighthouses!) before heading on to our next destination.
