Tulum Day 2

I've been really dragging my feet on sharing vacation photos, huh? Maybe it's the post-vacation blues, considering that Chicago still hasn't warmed up. I keep looking at these photos and remembering how nice it was to walk around in shorts and be in the ocean and lay out on the hammocks. Day 2 of our trip was filled with beautiful beaches, historic locations, and some great outfits. Click through to see it all!

We woke up bright and early to catch the sun coming up from our beautiful front patio. It probably seems strange, but I'm in my 30s and this was my first time lying in a hammock. I get the appeal  now.

We got up and about to find some breakfast and met a few of the hotel dogs on site. This is Buddy. He was super sweet and loved taking selfies with us.

Just a few steps down from our hotel was a smoothie and breakfast place called Tunich. The food was just what we needed (and I got the most amazing smoothie!) to start our day. I loved all of the colorful and interested artwork that covered their space.

Our concierge had recommended a private beach club called Caleta Tankah. This was THE SPOT. Easily my favorite beach during our time in Tulum, it was clean, not crowded, cheap drinks, and had a great cove-like area that was easy and non-threatening to wade out in (I'm not a great swimmer and the ocean sort of terrifies me, so easing in this way was more preferable for me!). We were here for hours, exploring the beach, palms, and even their on-site cenote.

I'm really glad that I picked up this waterproof case from Amazon. I had used the bag-style waterproof "cases" in the past, but this one actually snapped over my whole phone and was really fun to play with in the water!

After our time on the beach, we took a small bus to the Ruins. This was one of the must-see places on my list and I'm really happy I made it here.

Back to the hotel for more pool time and relaxing... (and happy hour margaritas).

And after all of the excitement, we went into town in the evening for Kristin's birthday dinner. Tulum has SO many things to see! Our dinner was at Unico and afterwards we stopped at a mezcal bar called Pasito Tun Tun for some drinks and live music.
