Welcome to Tulum

Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending time in Tulum, Mexico, with a couple of friends and it was one of the most refreshing trips I've ever taken! It's been two years (!!) since I took a big trip, and that was to Guadalajara. I loved being back in Mexico and can't wait to share all of it's beauty with y'all over the next couple of blog posts.

We flew to Cancun and took a pre-arranged van to Tulum. The trip was so easy and pleasant. Chicago was nearly in the single digits while we were gone, so the 85 degree temperatures were a perfect break from the chill.

We stayed at Zamas Hotel. I can't say enough great things about them! Everything from the rooms to the restaurant and bar, to the private beach and the staff — they were incredible. If you find yourself in Tulum and want to stay somewhere with a great margarita and great views, definitely check them out. We realized a little too late that their breakfast menu was one of our favorites, so don't sleep on 'em! We opted for the Ocean View room and got to relax with hammocks and a perfect ocean breeze (insert the sunglasses emoji here). ♥

My love for palm trees is truly endless.

As well as ocean sunsets...

I lived in bikinis during this trip. I packed five (lol oops). I also got my first ever spray tan prior to leaving — big shout out and thanks to The Sinless Tan in Lincoln Park! I'll be going on more about them later, but they saved my otherwise pale legs. I think I may have found a new beauty addiction...

During our first night, we went to a hip bar called Gitano. Their cocktails were unreal and I'm going to be forever daydreaming of this habanero drink for the rest of the summer!

Have you been to Tulum? If so, what were your favorite spots? Stay tuned for more posts on the places we went!
