Happy weekend! Nothing makes for a good start to your Saturday like brunch. We were invited to try the new Z Bar brunch menu and (as you can tell by the look on my face), I was pretty excited about it.

I've been to Z Bar before for dinner, so it was great to see the space early in the day and slightly less packed. We enjoyed a leisurely meal before kicking off our day!

Their new Kir and mimosa menu is a delightful build-your-own style bar. I'm a total lightweight, so this is perfect for me — I can load up with juice and fruit with just a splash of booze. I'm always a sucker for grapefruit juice!

We do this thing where we always order different dishes and share. Do you and your S/O or friends do this? It's one of my favorite things — so much so that I put it in my Hinge profile (where we met!). I always get to try a bit of everything!
I went with the steak and eggs and he got the chicken and waffles. I've gotta say, the chipa was a new delight for me. I can't say I've ever had it before, and it was great in combination with the eggs! The karaage chicken was so tasty, but the bourbon maple syrup really stole the show. And, per our usual behavior, we were both obsessed with the potatoes.

After brunch, we were able to hang out on the patio and enjoy the view in comfort. Even though it's already getting colder, the fire pit was welcoming. AND they had big fluffy warm blankets! Perfect for cuddling up and finishing coffee.

What's your favorite lunch spot in your city? I sometimes "forget" how beautiful Chicago is, but mornings like this really remind me!
Thanks so much to Z Bar for hosting us.
