Earlier this week, we were offered a stay at the new #StayHuman suite at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Downtown Chicago. It was a wonderful stay and a truly unique type of room that aimed to connect guests through writing notes and taking photos.
One of my favorite things about the building is that it used to be a hat factory prior to it's current life as a hotel. Throughout the building, there are plenty of reminders of this — including this lovely hat display in my room. And yes, I got to take one home. Guess which one I picked!
You really cannot beat this view to the west. I sometimes forget how beautiful our city is. Oh, yeah! And Opal (and all other pets) are welcome at Hotel Monaco as well!
We totally pigged out at the hotel's restaurant, Fisk & Co. They had an amazing spooky spell book drink menu, too. Here we have the lobster spaghetti, cauliflower, lobster roll, and salmon. Everything was delicious!
I think Opal really loves our little staycations!
The room has a really cool vintage-style typewriter that is perfect for writing letters to loved ones during your travels. I really loved the click-clack of the keys on this beauty!
And my favorite part of the #StayHuman suite? The Polaroid, of course! There is a guest book in the room to leave notes and photos for the next guest. I loved reading through the previous guests' pages.
