Back to our California trip! We ended up spending quite a few days in Los Angeles — surprisingly one of my favorite cities! Have you been to LA? When I was in high school, I wasn't a fan. But as I spent more time here, I really fell for it. Now I love it for all of the food options, shopping, and all around weirdness.

On our first day, we went straight to my favorite area — Little Tokyo! Donatsu was a wonderful new (to me) donut place and this ube donut was to die for. Spoiler alert, there's A LOT of ube in this post! In the square we picked up some dango and hot red bean buns, which we ate too quickly to get a photo of. We spent quite a lot of time in this area, going through the Japanese American Museum, grabbing matcha lattes, and going through great book stores.
For dinner we had Pine & Crane and, let me tell you — get the spicy peanuts and dan dan noodles!

On our second full day in LA, we took it pretty easy — food at Grand Central, a visit to the Bradbury, Griffith Park, and The Last Bookstore. The book store was a place that my boyfriend had placed on our list. I had somehow never been here, but it is amazing! I definitely recommend it for all book lovers out there!

Okay, let's talk ICE CREAM. Somi Somi has been a long time favorite of mine — taiyaki with soft serve ice cream. I picked up Nutella (even though I normally love red bean!) with ube and black sesame, and he got milk and matcha with red bean.
Just when I though I was full of ice cream, a couple days later I stumbled upon Bumsan on Instagram. It was near our Koreatown AirBnB, so we hit it up on our last night in town while enjoying lots of Korean street foods. Bumsan has cereal cones and soft serve. I got fruit pebbles with ube and cherry, while he got matcha and milk with Rice Krispies! We really have our tastes, don't we? I don't wanna pick a favorite, because they both were amazing!

Later in the week we went to The Row DTLA. It was a good way to kill an afternoon while getting coffee and shopping for gifts.

Easy Tiger is an adorable coffee shop at The Row! I couldn't get enough of their pink espresso machine and fun chairs.

We had an excellent time in LA — so much so that we're already talking about going back. What is your favorite neighborhood in Los Angeles?
